Briefing papers

The ECA produces regular Briefing papers on topical issues in relation to school governance, and to promote and share good practice. Click on the list on the left hand side to find guidance on topical information, procedure or good practice, or link to our alphabetical index of briefing papers.

Each briefing paper includes:

• An introduction to the topic
• What it means for you and the Governing Body
• Further information and references
• A summary of Clerk's Action

The briefing papers are produced as part of a series of guidance for clerks and they represent the best information available to the ECA at the date of publication.

Clerks are welcome to reproduce the briefing papers in order to support their Governing Bodies.
