Clerks' briefing sessions January 2010 - notes and evaluations
Once again, the Essex Clerks' Association and Governor Services jointly hosted clerks' briefing sessions at the beginning of the spring term - unfortunately clerks in Mid Essex who had planned to attend either of the sessions at Great Baddow were disappointed as both were cancelled because of severe weather conditions. Please accept our apologies for this - we won't let it happen in April!
The latest version of the Guide to the Law - January 2010 - is in your schools
The latest version of the Guide to the Law (January 2010) on CD Rom should have been delivered to your schools and needs to be distributed to your governors.
What’s New and Updates gives a useful list of the major amendments made to the previous edition of the guide, including:
Making sure that your governors are up to speed with safeguarding in their schools
You will probably be aware of the importance of ensuring that safeguarding and child protection procedures in our schools are absolutely watertight at the moment. This has partly been prompted by the requirements of the new Ofsted Inspection Framework, and national awareness following a number of tragic cases relating to child protection.
